Class Project

Hello Class,

I want to put it out early in the year, so it won't come as a surprise; Over the year we are going to be making a book all about North Carolina. I want to put in as many things about North Carolina as we can, and this book will be made as a class. I would like every student to pick something about North Carolina history, like a person, place or event, and write an essay on this topic. Also, if throughout the year you visit any cool places within North Carolina, pick up some brochures if you can and take pictures, those would be great to put into the book! I have included a section under the page link for cool sources we may stumble across during the year that may be useful for this book.

Much Love,

In Class Assignment

Hi Class !
I hope everyone is having a great day! Today in class I want to take the time to brainstorm and discuss what we already know about North Carolina history! I would like you take the time to right down, in just a few sentences, what you know about:

  • Blackbeard
  • Sir. Walter Raleigh
  • The Civil War
  • The Lost Colony
  • Slavery
  • North Carolina Lighthouses
By doing this, I will be able to see what you already know and it will help make class a little less boring. I appreciate you all doing this and it will also get you thinking more about what this class will be about!

Much Love,
Ms.Long

Assignment #1: Your History

Hello Class,
As your first assignment I want to get to know more about you and your history. I would like for you to tell me a little bit more about who you are and who your family is. Tell me what you know about your family and where you come from. I would also like to know about your own life up until this point. You can do this in any way! Make it creative and have fun! You can write an essay, do a timeline or anything thing else you feel that tells your history. I will put some templates for some timelines under the pages section in an area titled 'Timeline printable's/ideas' on the side blog. Feel free to use these designs or make up your own, again it's all up to you! I look forward to learning more about you!

Welcome to Ms. Long's 4th Grade History Class!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say welcome to my blog! This blog will be used for all of your assignments for this class. I will also use this blog to keep you updated on  tests, homework assignments and any upcoming activities I have planned for you all. I am very excited to be your teacher. If you ever need any help, I invite you to ask questions! 4th grade history is so much fun to learn about but at times can be challenging. I hope you enjoy learning about North Carolina history and I wish you all the best of luck this year!

Best Wishes,

Ms. Long
